Dell refund - part 3

Unfortunately, I may have come to the end of this whole miserable affair:

  • Dell basically said:

    1. Because we bundle things, you'll never know the real price, so you can't get a refund on something that doesn't have a listed price.

    2. If you want us to respect the clause in the Microsoft EULA, you have to return the laptop as well.

    3. You are not allowed to post any of our communications on a public forum.

  • I'm not even going to follow up with this with Microsoft, as their EULA is clear that refunds must be processed through the manufacturer: Dell.

  • The Canadian Competition bureau won't be looking into this case. They sent a form letter with no real answers - I will follow up on this to find out why it was rejected.

I think that means: There is no way to purchase a laptop from Dell in Canada and get a refund on the return on Windows XP.

Microsoft, once again, you've forced me to pay your tax.

I think I have only one option left: Small claims court.

Hey Anthony, just curious as to whether you did attempt that last option!

Hi fishy - I didn't get far. they don't have the money to follow up on all complaints and they didn't think this one was worth their time... No real answer. Go figure. :/
